Meet Huldey!
Missy Teeters will be playing Huldey in Theatre B’s upcoming production of The Moors
Teeters has been a big part of the Theatre B community, this being her 12th season. She has been in many Theatre B productions including Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Zara Spook and Other Lures, and Equivocation to name a few. In addition, she is an ensemble member and a self proclaimed theatre junkie. “I started performing in 4th grade and never looked back. I graduated from Concordia in 2006 with a major in Theatre Arts.”
When not performing, Teeters can be found working in many other areas of the theatre. “I enjoy working backstage, stage managing, and doing sound designs.” She also works a traditional desk job and spends plenty of time as a “crazy dog lady.”
Teeters adores the hilarity and complexity of The Moors and its characters. She says, “The Moors is about finding love in strange places and the desperate search for happiness; a Brontë comedy–with a chicken!”
Teeters plays Huldey, an aspiring writer who is desperate to be famous. “She bounces between the summit of joy and depths of sorrow instantaneously, like a schizophrenic Disney princess. Although it’s kind of embarrassing to admit, Huldey is a bookish version of me, with the crazy turned up to 11.”
Teeters has enjoyed working with such an impressive cast. “This is not going to sound professional at all, but its challenging not to laugh when a moment lands. I sometimes forget how difficult and challenging comedies can be, especially when working with talented people.”
Teeters says everyone should see The Moors because “Its going to to be WEIRD–wonderfully, delightfully, weird–and really good!”
