Polished productions of the newest, most innovative plays; multi-week runs advance the artistry of the work, while ensuring audience access to the uniquely intimate setting.

Emerging Artist Training

B Emerging Artist Training (BEAT): A rigorous, collaborative training program for student and adult artists. With emphasis on a small ensemble, contemporary literature, and current training techniques, BEAT provides students a safe environment to question assumptions and explore ideas. In collaboration with the North Dakota Governor’s Schools every other year.

Community Collaborations

Community Collaborations are the hallmark of Theatre B’s Work. Through partnerships with other artists and organizations, Theatre B helps address relevant issues and create space for meaningful conversation.

WinterArts Fest – month-long, community-wide arts programming around a common theme – ShakespeareFest, 2016, BeethovenFest, 2015

Wit – with Sandford Health Cancer Survivorship & UND Medical School, 2014

ReEntry – with the VA Health Center, performances in Bismarck, Grand Forks, and Fargo, exploring transition from combat to civilian life for Veterans, their families, and their caregivers

The Defiant Requiem – with the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, enacting the true story of the Jews who perfromed Verdi’s Requiem for their German captors at the Terezin concentration camp

Ellis Island: The Dream of America – a performance with the FM Symphony Chamber Music Series

The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later – in conjunction with a world-wide simulcast, Theatre B represented North Dakota at the Fargo Theatre

The Soldier’s Tale – a collaboration with FM Symphony Chamber Music Series

Bright Bird: The Art of Corita Kent – a staged reading and arts event series presented by the Spirit Room, the Presentation Sisters, and Jill Johnson-Danielson

Incubator for New Play Development

The Incubater for New Play Development champions new voices in the American Theatre. Theatre B supports playwrights at many stages, from readings of early drafts to staging of early producitons.
