This wickedly funny and fiercely provocative play about race, real estate, and the volatile values of each is inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun.
Act One takes place in 1959 as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house fifty years later, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.
The play won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play.
Directed by program director and ensemble member Brad Delzer. The show will run Thursday – Saturday, April 17 through May 17. There will be a Sunday matinee on May 4.
